Mic/Line amplifier test unit

This unit has just been built to offer a quick and easy way of testing all the mic/lime amps. I've not bothered with an input transformer. Essentially there is:

A Painton 15 way socket for the board under test.
►
XLR input un-balanced
►
XLR output balanced
►
Power cable for +- 15 V
►
VU meter (So small it's totally inaccurate!)
►
600 ohm load switch
►
Toggle switch for gain.
The test unit uses a Sowter 4562 transformer for the output. This is a close approximation to the transformers we wound ourselves.
AMAZING: Just plugged in an amp - after a second to charge up the bypass capacitors, the amp came up perfectly!
