Welcome to the Sound Techniques Desks site. I hope here to illustrate both the history of our desks, and some hints and tips on the restoration of all vintage analogue desks.  Please feel free to ask any (polite!) questions. The site is divided into OLD and NEW. The former was written in 2005, and the latter (with white backgrounds) started in April 2010. Geoff Frost

Last desk now in Paris!
Not yet
anyhow!
This was built in 1974, and is the last desk we ever made. It was made for a new studio when the lease on 46a Old Church Street ran out. In the event John Wood and I couldn't find anywhere suitable for a studio. So wh were forced to abandon the studio business. Even then, the studios had statred to see a decline in work.

This, one and only "Chelsea Desk" is in virtually pristine condition. It even appears that no capicitors need replacing. There some issues, like the fitting of phantohm power and grounding, that I shall cover in a series of videos.
